Description
MAP LAB PLUS
SEMI-AUTOMATIC LABORATORY ANALYSER FOR CLINICAL CHEMESTRY, LATEX AND ENZYME ASSAY
|
DETAILED DESCRIPTION
The Map Lab Plus analysers are interferential filter photometers, completely managed by microprocessors, that execute photometric measurements and elaborate them according to the corresponding programs.
In Map Lab Plus analyses can be performed either in cuvettes or in microwells through two separated optical groups. Various parameters can be inserted by the operator. In particular, the following determinations can be carried out:
- ABSORBANCE
- END-POINT (Concentration)
- KINETICS
- FIXED-TIME
- MULTISTANDARD (uo to 7 standards)
- QUALITATIVE
- EIA
The Map Lab Plus uses disposable macro and micro cuvettes (glass or plastic), with an optical path of 1 cm. Number 10 interferential filters are included in the instruments: 4 for microwells and 6 for the cuvettes. The selection of the interferential filter is automatic, with powered handling managed by a microprocessor. This characteristic makes reading easier and eliminates filter- selection errors that may occur in instruments with manual selection.
The instruments can be programmed by means of a keyboard: the required parameters are inserted by a 32-character alphanumeric display. This display also shows the state of the instrument, eventual errors or malfunction signals. The analytic results are directly displayed in the pre-set measuring units.
INSTRUMENT CHARACTERISTICS
OPTICS
The instrument’s optics is sophisticated: the light source is a halogen lamp (20 W) for the cuvette section of Map Lab Plus. The light beam is aligned by a quartz lens, allowing a high measuring accuracy even when reduced-volume cuvettes are used.
The optics of the micro-well section consists of a special lens-end krypton- filled lamp (2 W) and a sophisticated lens system that ensures a high reproducibility of the analysis. A high precision step motor allows an accurate positioning of the strip-holder inside the reading block.
INCUBATOR
A 10-position Dry Block Incubator is incorporated and can contain both square and cylindrical cuvettes. The temperature of the thermostat unit is equal to that of the cuvettes contained in it (37°C).
FLOW CELL
The Map Lab Plus analyzer has a one-way flow cell system that ensures low carry-over values even with limited sample volumes. Disposable macro and micro cuvettes (glass or plastic), with an optical path of 1 cm, can be used by simply removing the flow cell from the reading compartment and placing it in the right-side one.
The instrument can be equipped with 18 uL flow cell (optionally 80uL). The instrument can be programmed to use air gapin order to reduce the carry-over.
LANGUAGE
The instructions on the display can be selected from one of the following languages: English, Italian, German, French and Spanish. Furthermore, an additional language can be inserted upon customer’s request. For such operation, contact your nearest dealer.
RESULT DISPLAY
The instrument is provided with a 24-column thermal graphic printer; it can print the analytic results and their programming parameters and plot graphs in MULTI-STANDARD and KINETIC Tests.
The instrument is an OPEN system and is therefore completely programmable .
MEMORY
90 programs can be stored in the instrument. Qualitative, Kinetic, End-point, Fixed Time determinations can be inserted into the programs from 1 to 50 (except Multi-standard Tests). Analyses starting from 51 to 90 can be programmed for all methods (Multi-standard included).
By means of a sophisticated algorythm it is possible to execute a recalibration of a multi-standard analysis using only 2 standard. All the method parameters and the results are sent to a Serial Output (RS-232) situated on the back of the instrument. This allows the instrument to communicate with a PC: it is then possible to elaborate the results through this serial link.
SOFTWARE
A Data Management Software in a CD-ROM for Map Lab and Map Lab Plus is included with the instrument . This software communicates with the instrument by RS-232 Output and allows the user to maintain a database (as archive organized by session or by test) of the results. Moreover, it performs complete Quantitative and Qualitative Test calculations.
