GLYCOSCREEN

Point of Care GLYCOSCREEN is a completely automated spectrophotometer for the determination of glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) in whole blood based on the boronate affinity method.

The test cartridge is composed of a part containing the pre-filled reagents and a capillary for blood collection. First reagent lyses blood and binds glycated hemoglobin specifically, while a boronate resin binds cis-diols of glycated hemoglobin.

After measuring the hemoglobin, the cartridge is rotated so that washing solution washes out everything but the glycated hemoglobin, allowing the spectrophotometer to measure the reflectance relative only to the glycated hemoglobin fraction
